Visa-Free Entry Philippines: Indian Tourist Bookings Surge 60%

Visa-Free Entry Philippines: Indian Tourist Bookings Surge 60% After June 8 Launch
The Philippines is now seeing a significant boost in its tourism sector thanks to its visa-free entry policy for Indian citizens, which took effect on June 8, 2025. This strategic move has already sparked a 60% increase in travel bookings to the country from India, according to early data from travel platforms.
Under the new policy, Indian nationals with valid visas or residence permits from countries such as the United States, Japan, Canada, Australia, and Schengen states can now enter the Philippines visa-free for up to 14 days. This is part of the government’s efforts to revive tourism after the COVID-19 pandemic and to promote the country as a top travel destination in Southeast Asia.
Tourism Industry Welcomes Policy
Tourism officials and private travel operators across the Philippines have praised this initiative. Many believe this opens new opportunities for Indian-Filipino travel partnerships, boosts local economies, and encourages more international flights connecting India and the Philippines.
“This is a game changer. We are seeing a wave of Indian tourists making last-minute summer bookings,” said a Manila-based travel agency.
According to the Department of Tourism (DOT), India ranks among the top 15 source markets for Philippine tourism. With millions of potential travelers, this policy is seen as a key factor in the country’s long-term tourism strategy.
Key Tourism Spots Target Indian Market
Popular destinations like Cebu, Palawan, Boracay, and Bohol are preparing to accommodate more Indian travelers. Hotels are offering India-specific packages, and some resorts have even begun customizing services to match Indian preferences in food and cultural experience.
